Southern Beaches

Southern part of the country is surrounded by the ocean. There are several nice beaches in southern Sri Lanka.

Mirissa

Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Matara District. This place is famous among tourists for whale and dolphin watching as well as scuba diving.

Galle

Galle is the main city in Southern province of Sri Lanka. This city also a famous tourist destination because of the beach,  Galle fort and Dutch Museum.

Bentota

Bentota also another famous tourist beach destination located in Southwest of the country.

Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa also another small town situated in Southern province of Sri Lanka. But this town is one of the most famous tourist destinations because of the nice beach and coral reef.

Tangalle and Unawatuna also two beautiful beaches in the southern part of the country.

Turtle Hatchery – Kosgoda

Turtle hatchery and turtle care center in Kosgoda also a famous place among tourists. There are hundreds of baby turtles can be seen here.

Madu River Boat Safari

Boat safari in Madu River is another amazing experience. You will be able to see several little islands and the most famous is  open air fish massage.
